Master of Public Health

The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree combines the study of the biological, physical, psychological, economic, and social forces affecting the human condition. The degree’s curriculum seeks to analyze not only the nature and context of public health problems, but also the organizational, behavioral, socio-cultural, and political constraints to ameliorating these problems. Through experiences in and out of the classroom, students develop the habit of intellectual inquiry, prepare for challenging professions, strengthen relationships to their communities and contribute productively to society.

Comidas y Comunidades Saludables (CCS)

Comidas y Comunidades Saludables (CCS) aims to develop an innovative curriculum and train underrepresented Hispanic students to not only understand and recognize the individual factors influencing childhood obesity, but also to identify the structural determinants of health policy at the local and federal level that influence and may help reduce childhood obesity and improve nutrition in the Hispanic immigrant populations. We hope via a more holistic approach, while integrating leadership tenants, to produce a comprehensive, talented and equipped underrepresented workforce to tackle childhood obesity in Hispanic communities through many angles.
